ABOUT ME:
Little Goldfinch is owned and operated by Jeanine Sawyer. She was called Little Goldfinch by her Great Aunt Mary; who was a woman of notable elegance, worldliness, and never one to forgo having her nieces over for a lovely tea party. The Goldfinch is a symbol of joy, optimism and good things to come. This is what her aunt embodied to Jeanine.
Jeanine earned her Fine Arts degree in 2001 and has always loved hosting a party, but she didn’t fall in love with the wedding industry and floral design until her own wedding in 2019. Jeanine then started working at an upscale venue in La Jolla and was the Venue Attendent for hundreds of weddingsa. She could always be found at the end of the night stuffing her car full of flowers to save them from the dumpster. With permission of course! And that led to starting on her own as an event florist in 2023.
In her off-time, Jeanine loves playing with flowers, reading, crafting, decorating her home and spending time with her husband, 3 dogs, and beloved blind cat. A true highlight of 2023 and 2024 was volunteering for the San Diego Museum of Art’s Art Alive floral pop-ups and Bloom Bash.
